Moonlogue<\/strong><\/a>‘s music is mainly\u00a0instrumental<\/strong>\u00a0but it speaks for itself with a language that blends\u00a0electro rock, post-rock, space rock, math rock, progressive\u00a0<\/strong>and current\u00a0environmental issues<\/strong>.\u00a0Sail Under Nadir<\/strong><\/em>, their\u00a0debut album<\/strong>, will be released on CD and on all digital platforms on 3 July 2020<\/strong>, preceded by the singles\u00a0Est\u00e9ban<\/em><\/strong>,\u00a0Nuage<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Rainyard<\/em><\/strong>. “Our record tells a journey through extreme scenarios, where exasperation of progress, greed and desire for control have consumed the world in which we live in<\/em>”<\/p>\n

Moonlogue are an Italian band from Turin, formed by\u00a0Lorenzo Riccardino, Mattia Calcatelli, Federico Mao and Edoardo Campo<\/strong>. Among previous experiences, Lorenzo and Mattia have already shared the adventure in the duo Glooom, while Mattia has also played in the trio Karin And The Ugly Barnacles together with Federico. The new Moonlogue project was born from the need for a sound research with broader horizons, beyond all the conventions of the song-form. These horizons are depicted through suggestions that derive from\u00a0astronomy<\/strong>.\u00a0The name\u00a0Moonlogue<\/strong>, not by chance, comes from the playful union of two words:\u00a0“moon”<\/strong>, source of inspiration and energy for human beings, and\u00a0“monologue”<\/strong>, in connection with that kind of speech expressed in the tracks thanks to a narrating voice that refer to a sci-fi imagery now more realistic than dystopian.<\/p>\n

Moonlogue combine\u00a0electric guitar, bass, drums, synthesizers<\/strong>, noises and sequences, experimenting with an accentuated electronic approach, and the use of\u00a0original samples\u00a0<\/strong>obtained from the interpretation of the band’s\u00a0lyrics by Oliver Hutchison, Australian professor of English Literature. The reference models, just for orientation, could be Battles, Calibro 35, Darkside,\u00a0Mogwai and Public Service Broadcasting.<\/p>\n

In their\u00a0first album<\/strong>\u00a0Sail Under Nad\u00ecr<\/strong><\/em>,\u00a0written, produced and mixed in their own laboratory-recording studio,\u00a0Moonlogue dream\u00a0a story that could belong to an episode of the TV series\u00a0Tales From The Loop<\/em>:\u00a0the astronaut Est\u00e9ban receives an interstellar alarm and sets himself in search of the source of the message, collecting more informations. Until he will realize that the planet in danger, the one near to the collapse, is the same Earth from which he left.<\/p>\n

Announced by the intro\u00a001<\/em>\u00a0(\u201cIt will change the way you think about the future, it will change the way you think about humanity, it will change the way you think about the fabric of the universe<\/em>\u201c), the\u00a0exploration starts with the mysterious electric gloom of\u00a0Graphite<\/em>\u00a0and the danceable rhythms of\u00a0Est\u00e9ban<\/em><\/strong>, going on with the epic\u00a0Grains<\/em>, about the sense of existence, and the aggressiveness of\u00a0Borderland<\/em>, about the breakdown of capitalism.\u00a0Moonflares<\/em>‘ cathartic schizophrenia symbolizes the melting of glaciers.\u00a0Nuage<\/strong><\/em>, built on dreamlike retro-futuristic textures, groove under the skin and threatening riff, illustrates the process of deterioration and pollution of the skies and the air.\u00a0Treeless\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Zwangslage<\/em>\u00a0represent the imminent apocalypse, caused by chasing after technology and war conflicts.\u00a0If in the melancholy melody of\u00a0Rainyard<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0the delays of guitars and the keyboards turn into drops of water in a storm, placing attention on the drought effects, the outro\u00a000<\/em>\u00a0closes the tracklist with the hope for a still possible revolution.<\/p>\n
