Sacrobosco<\/strong>, the electronic music project by\u00a0Giacomo Giunchedi<\/strong>, is ready to take you to his personal dream places with his new album, titled\u00a0Dreamlike Places<\/strong><\/em>, out today\u00a0February 13th\u00a0<\/strong>on digital and limited-edition vinyl via\u00a0Antinational Noise<\/strong>, the electronic and experimental music label he founded and manages, distributed by Audioglobe\/The Orchard.<\/p>\n

The Italian musician and producer, living in Bologna, recorded\u00a0Dreamlike Places<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0in his home studio and mixed it during the final stages with\u00a0Davide Bombanella<\/strong>\u00a0at Groundfloor Studios in Modena. The mastering was done in London at Transition Studios by\u00a0Jason Goz<\/strong>, well known for his work with important international artists such as Burial, Actress, Massive Attack, and Flying Lotus.<\/p>\n

Dreamlike Places<\/strong><\/em>, Sacrobosco’s fifth album, contains eight tracks recorded throughout 2025, based on\u00a0reworkings of field recordings<\/strong>\u00a0and created through\u00a0granular synthesis<\/strong>,\u00a0sampling of acoustic instruments<\/strong>, and the use of\u00a0sound elements from YouTube<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The tracks offer\u00a0microhouse<\/strong>,\u00a0downtempo<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0ambient<\/strong>\u00a0sounds with a minimalist feel. Dancefloor-oriented moments alternate with cinematic expansions, urban influences, and nocturnal landscapes.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Sacrobosco<\/strong>: \u00abThe album was composed primarily at night, sometimes following nights spent listening to music at clubs like Freakout Club in Bologna. During the sessions, the feeling of being in another place and time emerged, a parallel dimension generated by the vibrations of the tracks. Initially,\u00a0Dreamlike Places<\/em>\u00a0referred only to the track of the same name, but then it encompassed the entire work when choosing a title\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Lead single\u00a0All I Long For<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0was born from a sample taken from YouTube, featuring a girl singing the jazz standard\u00a0Fly Me To The Moon<\/em>. The vocals were processed using granular synthesis and blended with sound elements composed mainly on Ableton, reworking sounds from various sources.<\/p>\n

So, Sacrobosco’s constellations unite the stars of\u00a0Bologna<\/strong>, and those of the melting pot of\u00a0London<\/strong>. The first track to be finalized for the work,\u00a0Bleeding Sun<\/em>, was inspired by the sounds heard at vinyl enthusiast events organized in his hometown by the collective Mint Sound, now Escape, while the title track,\u00a0Dreamlike Places<\/em>, written shortly thereafter, shows off field recordings captured by Giunchedi on the streets of London, including Brixton, Dalston, and Hackney. This also happens in the shadowy\u00a0Day Eleven<\/em>, where the vocals are derived from a sample of Monica’s song\u00a0Like This And Like That<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Going deeper into\u00a0Dreamlike Places<\/em><\/strong>, other brilliant and unexpected sound sources include, for example, an interview with Whitney Houston, sampled in the catchy and haunting opening track\u00a0Subway Surfer<\/em><\/strong>, that includes also excerpts from Adele’s\u00a0Set Fire To The Rain<\/em>, or\u00a0the reworking in\u00a0Darksand<\/em>\u00a0of a sample of Madonna’s\u00a0What It Feels Like For A Girl<\/em>, enriched with fragments of various Urdu and Hindi pop songs. We live inside a dream, but who is the dreamer?<\/p>\n
