Solaris<\/strong>\u00a0are back in orbit with their new\u00a0EP\u00a0Abbiamo una legge e per questa legge deve morire<\/em><\/strong>, out today\u00a0March 24th, 2023\u00a0<\/strong>on all digital platforms\u00a0via\u00a0Bronson Recordings<\/strong>, in an ideal line of succession with the previous EP\u00a0Io non trovo in lui nessuna colpa<\/em><\/strong>, in a kind of “cycle of collaborations” born as a reaction to the pandemic and carried forward to the present day.<\/p>\n

The young Italian band, formed by\u00a0Alberto Casadei<\/strong>\u00a0(voice and guitar),\u00a0Paride Placuzzi<\/strong>\u00a0(guitar),\u00a0Lorenzo Bartoli<\/strong>(bass) and\u00a0Alan Casali<\/strong>\u00a0(drums), is supported for this new EP\u00a0Abbiamo una legge e per questa legge deve morire\u00a0<\/em>by\u00a0Bruno Dorella<\/strong>\u00a0(OvO, Ronin, Bachi da Pietra),\u00a0Xabier Iriondo<\/strong>\u00a0(Afterhours, Bu\u00f1uel),\u00a0Christian Biscaro “Der Pastina”<\/strong>\u00a0(Marnero, Hyperw\u00fclff) and\u00a0Michele Alessandri (SANDRI)<\/strong>. These important appearances from the alternative Italian scene contributed to enlarge the sound spectrum of the two songs on the tracklist, just like in the previous EP\u00a0Io non trovo in lui nessuna colpa\u00a0<\/em>we could find Nicola Manzan and Ottone Pesante as precious guests. “The input that led us to experiment with news methods of composition and execution was certainly the pandemic. In particular, the tracks are born from the frustration of not being able to play live. The positive aspect of this situation was collaborating with other artists, from a distance, to create new material<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

The continuity between the two EPs is underlined by the choice of the titles.<\/em>\u00a0“The connection to the Bible refers to what we experienced between the release of our debut album and these EPs. The feeling that has recently come out has been sloth because some people,\u00a0instead of taking a stand, have washed their hands of the categories most affected by the consequences of the pandemic<\/em>“. \u00a0Both EPs were realized with the help of Andrea Cola (Sunday Morning), who recorded and mixed the EP at the StoneBridge Studio in Cesena, then mastered by Giovanni Versari at La Maest\u00e0.<\/p>\n

The first direct and no-frills single\u00a0Preda<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0hosts Bruno Dorella on claustrophobic synthesizers, Xabier Iriondo on electric guitar and Christian Biscaro on backing vocals. Dorella and Biscaro are also present on the second track\u00a0Germanio<\/em><\/strong>, which thanks to the double bass interventions of Michele Alessandri (SANDRI) closes the project with a reverberated coda, to represent a distant hope of restarting.<\/p>\n

Solaris base their aggressive style on heavy noise coordinates and references to the 90s, placing themselves between\u00a0post-metal, post-stoner and post-grunge<\/strong>, with a sound that has become more and more epic and of great impact. The lyrics express all the discomfort of the\u00a0“lost generation”<\/strong>\u00a0of almost thirty-year-olds, in an imaginary, angry dialogue with the divinity. The\u00a0artwork<\/strong>\u00a0was created by Placuzzi himself, with the aim of representing with the cover painting the atmosphere of the record and the instinct of the unconscious state of mind due to the moment of lockdown.<\/p>\n

Founded in 2015,\u00a0Solaris<\/strong>\u00a0take their name from the science fiction novel by Polish writer Stanislaw Lem, honored also by Failure, one of the main sources of inspiration for arrangements and imagery, together with Unwound, June of 44 and Karate, among others.\u00a0Abbiamo una legge e per questa legge deve morire<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0follows the previous EP\u00a0Io non trovo in lui nessuna colpa<\/em>\u00a0<\/em>of 2021 and the first LP\u00a0Un Paese di musichette mentre fuori c\u2019\u00e8 la morte<\/em>\u00a0of\u00a02020, produced by the legendary\u00a0Martin Bisi<\/strong>. In addition to many gigs, also supporting similar bands such as Fuzz Orchestra and Ufomammut.<\/p>\n
