She is active since 2003 with her solo project ?Alos, is a member <strong>OvO<\/strong> and of the historical female band Allun. He was part of Six Minute War Madness and actually is guitarist of <strong>Afterhours<\/strong>, as well as sound manipulator for projects like Uncode Duello, A Short Apnea, Bunuel, The Shipwreck Bag Show, Immaginisti, Todo Modo and many others.<\/p>\n<p>Out the 12 April 2019 on the labels <strong>Sangue Disken<\/strong> (Milan) and <strong>Cheap Satanism<\/strong> (Brussels), available in vinyl and in all digital formats, <strong><em>Coscienza di s\u00e9<\/em><\/strong> is their new EP as a duo and the third release side by side after the homonym 7\u201d of 2011 and the album <em>Endimione<\/em> of 2012, focused on Antonin Artaud\u2019s <em>Madrigals<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Coscienza di s\u00e9 <\/em>is dedicated to <strong>Emma Goldman<\/strong>, American writer and philosopher of Russian-Lithuanian origins, also portrayed on the cover pic, with artwork by Stra. The lyrics of the five tracks refer to her words, revolutionary for having conveyed freedom of thought, anarchy and feminism from the end of the Nineteenth century to 1940, the year of her death, but unfortunately \u201cnecessary\u201d even in our present. \u201c<em>We started recording the songs in 2018, when feminism was regaining life, also thanks to the movement Non Una di Meno. Everything, then, has reachead a sort of maturity. Many people, including many young feminists, don\u2019t even known who Emma Goldman is. That\u2019s why her figure must be absolutely valued. The concepts shouted by Goldman a hundred years ago have never been so current. We believe that in this historical moment it\u2019s even more important that musicians return to talk about politics<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The tracklist moves from <em>Apertura<\/em>, in charge of starting the record and invoking open mindedness, to <em>Gelosia<\/em>: \u201c<em>Considering the numerous cases of feminicide and domestic violence, today jealousy is a subject of great relevance<\/em>\u201d. We continue with <em>Autoaffermazione<\/em>, the same <em>Coscienza di s\u00e9<\/em> that gives title to the whole work and <em>Amore libero<\/em>. \u201c<em>Goldman\u2019s feminist vision coincided with the aspiration to an emancipated woman, capable of fighting on the front line. In addition, her idea of anarchy was to be applied to all the aspects of human existence, both political and individual<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Stefania Pedretti has always experimented with female issues during her career, but never so explicitly. The challenge of using her <strong>Italian language<\/strong>, one of the key-elements of the collaboration with Iriondo, makes communication more vigorous. While she sings, declaims and screams, with her voice elaborated through a <strong>vocoder<\/strong>, while becoming flesh for the Goldman\u2019s verb and playing also <strong>synths<\/strong>, Xabier Iriondo focuses on the <strong>bass<\/strong> \u2013 his main \u201cweapon\u201d in this duo adventure \u2013 and on a <strong>drum machine<\/strong> of the early 70s. \u201c<em>The goal was to mantain power and ferocity using instruments not strictly related to rock music in its traditional form<\/em>\u201d. The result is a modern sound, linked to <strong>avant-garde<\/strong> and <strong>art-punk<\/strong> but with a peculiar <strong>immediacy<\/strong>. \u201cCoscienza di s\u00e9<em> is our most <\/em>pop<em>ular record. We wanted to use electronics and some \u2018catchy\u2019 rhythms to make very strong and meaningful contents sound direct. We hope people can discuss about all this<\/em>\u201d. <em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em>Involved in many projects, Stefania and Xabier \u2013 who recorded the EP at the Zulo Gorria Studio in Milan \u2013 have renewed a special alchemy. \u201c<em>There are harmony and cohesion between us<\/em>\u201d, they say. \u201c<em>We worked with considerable intensity for short periods of time: in less than seven days, spread over a year, we realized recordings, arrangements and mixes. We trust each other\u2019s intiuitions, so our artistic partnership is very constructive<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The impact is extraordinary: <em>Coscienza di s\u00e9 <\/em>explodes loudly, in the deafening silence of a de-evolutionary society. It explodes in the stereo and in the head. Citing <em>Autoaffermazione<\/em>, \u201c<em>True emancipation has begun!<\/em>\u201d.
