“FRAMES\u00a0collects four different dream-images that we wanted to play and tell<\/em>“.\u00a0FRAMES<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0is the new\u00a0EP<\/strong>\u00a0by the indie electro-rock trio\u00a0Baobab Romeo<\/strong>, out on\u00a010 June 10th, 2022<\/strong>\u00a0on the French independent label\u00a0ADAT Records<\/strong>, led by the new single\u00a0Earth<\/em><\/strong>, today available on all digital platforms.\u00a0Active since 2013, Baobab Romeo is a trio formed by Mattia Bresciani (voice) and Davide Bianchera (bass, synth) from the band .Geisha. and Sebastiano Confetta (guitar, synth, mix)\u00a0from\u00a0Holiday in Arabia. The electronic rock attitude on stage of Mattia and Davide meets Sebastiano’s \u201cstudio” electronic attitude.<\/p>\n

FRAMES\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>is the new chapter in a discography\u00a0started with a first self-produced EP dating back to 2015 and the debut album\u00a0HUM<\/em>, dedicated to the theme of travel and released by Seahorse Recordings in 2018. The sound of Baobab Romeo is halfway between\u00a0indie rock and electronics<\/strong>, opening up to\u00a0pop, soul and jazz<\/strong>\u00a0nuances, influenced by projects with a strong personality such as Arca, Eartheater, Yves Tumor and many others.\u00a0“Our ideas start from a rhythmic or melodic input. Each of it is developed individually by each of us. Everything is then amalgamated during the recording phase. Even if we always lend a ‘surgical’ attention to sound research and arrangements, this new EP is more direct than\u00a0<\/em>HUM. We needed to enhance our communicative awareness<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

Starting from 2017, the three Italian musicians from Mantua collaborate with\u00a0IUVENIS DANZA<\/strong>, a contemporary dance company, with performances and the realization of videoclips; the highlight of this collaboration was the participation at the Idaco Festival in New York. Over time, the band has played on the same stages with various important artists such as Rival Consoles.\u00a0“We are passionate about literature, cinema, theater, and dance. When we write our songs, we like to think that the sound can be a kind of soundtrack for some images, but also for some bodies in motion; \u00a0for this reason, our gigs are always accompanied by visuals or dancers and performers who help the audience to immerse themselves in our world<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

The first new single\u00a0Earth<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>is actually the last track of the EP and it’s about lust, the weirdest desires, the fantasies that make us unique. The single’s\u00a0video<\/strong>, directed and edited by Bianchera, features the performer Alessia Sinato, belonging to IUVENIS DANZA and hidden behind a mask created by Francesca Maccari. “The video represents a person who suddenly is inside another body – of an animal, or a fantastic creature – and deals with related\u00a0<\/em>dreams and\u00a0<\/em>perversions<\/em>” .<\/p>\n
