Sale Rosa<\/strong><\/em> is the new psych-disco pop<\/strong> album by dellacasa maldive<\/strong>, out on November 12th, 2021<\/strong> for the independent record label La Valigetta<\/strong>, led by the singles Domani<\/em>, Voglio Solo Stare Fuori All’Aria Aperta<\/em>, Pedalini<\/em>\u00a0and the brand new Sto Perdendo Me Stesso<\/em><\/strong>, available from today October 29th on all digital platforms.<\/p>\n

dellacasa maldive is the Italian music project by Riccardo Dellacasa<\/strong>, multi-instrumentalist born in 1991 and active between Paris, Milan, and Venice, where he wrote, arranged, produced and mixed the new album during the winter of 2020\/2021. The years spent on stage, together with Wemen, Emmanuelle and Verano, have contributed to a conscious process of stylistic research which looks beyond any geographical border.<\/p>\n

Following an approach devoted to essentiality and total freedom of expression, the result is an encounter between electronics<\/strong> and psychedelia<\/strong>, inspired by artists such as ESG, Funkadelic, Larry Gus, The Holydrug Couple and many others. It’s music to sing and dance,\u00a0fast-moving between catchy melodies and spoken word, engaging rhythms and funk-garage guitars. Sale Rosa<\/em> is the second album by dellacasa maldive after the debut album Amore Italiano,\u00a0<\/em>mixed by Marco Fasolo from Jennifer Gentle and released in 2019. Dellacasa says that\u00a0“Sale Rosa is a record in which I put my face, talking about stories that I have really lived, and that I have realized completely on my own<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

The new single\u00a0Sto Perdendo Me Stesso<\/b><\/em>, featuring Max Collini (Offlaga Disco Pax)<\/strong>, is a Caribbean-new wave electro-story with synth strings by Francesco Perini aka Pearz and the saxophone by Emanuele Morena. It includes many references, from Unknown Mortal Orchestra to Moroder and Neon Indian, that acts as fixed points in the contemporary disorientation. “Sto Perdendo Me Stesso\u00a0was born from a bass line, just rhythm on an only note. The lyrics are connected to a moment of total decline, in which I was alone in Paris, a huge city where everything is in motion. It was sunny, but I dragged myself through the streets and felt totally lost, without any roots or goals. I didn’t recognize myself anymore. Music, however, saved me, and continues to do so: this is why I mention music clubs where I played and many artists that I like. It’s a therapeutic song<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

All the video clips<\/strong> are made by Camilla Mazzocato. Graphics and imagery are of Davide Bezier, bassist of dellacasa maldive. The live line-up<\/strong> is completed with Dario Canepa on drums, and Emanuele Morena on guitar and keyboards.<\/p>\n

dellacasa maldive<\/strong> tries to stay in balance between LCD Soundsystem and Franco Battiato, electronic music and songwriting.\u00a0The gentle but pressing beat reminds us that we want to jump and live, while Riccardo’s voice explains why music is such an important refuge and cure. These are not only simple songs. dellacasa maldive<\/strong>\u00a0travels musically between New York, Manchester, Paris, Abuja and Mal\u00e9, tracing a personal map of references for an imaginary place to visit listen after listen.<\/p>\n
