Lovers<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0is the new single by\u00a0Tin Woodman<\/strong>, a psychedelic hymn to love available on all digital platforms today\u00a0September 24th, 2021<\/strong>\u00a0via\u00a0Retro Vox Records<\/strong>. The love faced in\u00a0Lovers<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0is the one between lovers, obviously, but also the love towards oneself, towards art, and towards music.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Simone Ferrari (Simon Diamond)<\/strong>,\u00a0Davide Chiari (Dave The Wave)<\/strong>\u00a0and Tin Woodman,\u00a0the robot\u00a0<\/strong>landed from the secret city of Wautah in order to become a rock star:\u00a0“Lovers. One of most used and abused titles of all time \u2013 especially for paintings. Here we want to sing a picture, play a painting of that intense, almost tragic kind of love that makes people both love and hurt each other. A love sonnet from the hood. Like Shakespeare meeting the Beastie Boys, or like Dr. Dre reciting Byron. The redemption of a young male lover; the divine vision of an angelic woman \u2013 a guiding light in the artistic elevation of the lover, the Penelope to the Ulysses, the Juliet to the Romeo<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

The song blends\u00a0alt hip hop, psych-rock, acid blues and art-pop<\/strong>\u00a0in an imperious flow of amorous senses, recalling influences such as Beck, MGMT and Ty Segall, and features Michele Marelli on drums and a\u00a0brass trio<\/strong>, formed by Dario Acerboni on sax, Luca Bonardi on trumpet and Davide Albrici on trombone. These collaborations reinforce the concept of\u00a0artistic empathy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The attraction towards art, for Tin Woodman, is wonderfully compelling, even better if shared with kindred spirits, and the result in an extravagant madness of love distilled song by song. This is why for\u00a0Lovers<\/em>‘\u00a0videoclip<\/strong>\u00a0the Italian band from Brescia called many colleagues and friends to join the shooting. The director\u00a0Marco Jeannin<\/strong>\u00a0explains: “Lovers’\u00a0video contributes to the definition of the new course of Tin Woodman, with an imagery between rap and glam, in black and white, made of silver lights and reflections. The focus is on the alternation between the band and a series of characters portrayed in the act of simply being themselves. These characters are chosen not by chance: they are friends of the band, of course, but first of all they are artists. There are many musicians, as well as writers and performers. People who believe in love and have given life to a choral experience. \u00a0To my camera, the task of making them become a single voice, and part of a single video. The rich and heterogeneous\u00a0list of guests<\/strong>\u00a0participating in the\u00a0Lovers<\/em>‘ video<\/strong>\u00a0includes psych-kraut band\u00a0a\/lpaca<\/strong>, Zannunzio (bassist and vocalist of the industrial-post-punk band\u00a0submeet<\/strong>), the singer-songwriter\u00a0Scerida<\/strong>, Fred (drummer of the rock band\u00a0The Lancasters<\/strong>), nu jazz-pop composer\u00a0Stanthony<\/strong>, \u00a0young trapper\u00a099Paranoie<\/strong>, the painter\u00a0Federico Divari<\/strong>, sweet noise duo\u00a0KICK<\/strong>, noise indie band\u00a0Listrea<\/strong>, all-women alt-rock band\u00a0viadellironia<\/strong>, Lorenzo Perteghella (guitarist of the garage-punk band\u00a0Yonic South)<\/strong>, Andrea Onofrio (drummer of the garage-psych band\u00a0Bee Bee Sea<\/strong>), the couple formed by the singer and performer\u00a0Wawa San\u00e9<\/strong>\u00a0and the dancer, performer and beatmaker\u00a0Samoo<\/strong>, the author, essayist and screenwriter\u00a0Andrea Fontana<\/strong>, the dancer\u00a0Mattia Pizzato – Yatri Harshil<\/strong>, the songwriter\u00a0Fabio Dondelli<\/strong>\u00a0(former frontman of Annie Hall), dream pop producer\u00a0Loneriver<\/strong>\u00a0(bassist of Jennifer Gentle<\/strong>) and Alex Foolish (bassist of\u00a0The Ferrets<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

During 2020 Simon Diamond and Dave The Wave returned to the recording studio to work on their second album, at La Buca Recording Club in Montichiari, Brescia, after releasing the debut EP\u00a0Metal Sexual Toy Boy<\/em>\u00a0in 2017 and the first album\u00a0Azkadellia<\/em>\u00a0in 2018.\u00a0Meantime, they have been engaged in long tours, also supporting names such as Public Service Broadcasting and The Last Internationale, and for the new gigs they have fit out a complete renewal of the entire\u00a0live set<\/strong>,\u00a0and Tin Woodman, the world\u2019s only on-stage music-making robot, is getting revamped, with a new feature upgrade covering lights and movements.<\/p>\n
